How it Started and Where we are Today

Thank your for your interest in Hahn Gas Springs. Günther Hahn, the company's founder, worked his way up from a tool and die apprenticeship in 1960, to establishing his own gas spring factory six years later, in Esslingen, near Stuttgart, Germany.

He began with himself and one other employee, a German shepherd named “Donna”, who acted as faithful cheerleader and security guard over the 250 square foot “factory” that doubled as his father’s garage. Today, in a much larger, ultra-modern facility, Hahn employs over 200 workers, and exports the finest gas springs, tension springs, and dampers all over the world.

HAHN Gas Springs focuses on quality, innovation and customer satisfaction. Our modern, precision manufacturing processes are extremely flexible, which affords us shorter lead times for special builds. Production of one-off, limited series or high volume runs; all and more fall under our scope of capabilities.
